When Indian high-tech company Tessolve chose Hannover in 2017, the goal was initially to establish a European base. Eight years later, an investment of around 4 billion Indian rupees (approx. €42.5 million) in Dream Chip Technologies GmbH marks a new milestone – and impressively underlines how business settlements can evolve over time.

Dr. Benndorf, you are Managing Director and CEO of Dream Chip Technologies GmbH and co-responsible for the integration of the company into the Tessolve Group. Tessolve has been present in Hannover since 2017. Today, the focus is no longer on settling in, but on forward-looking growth. How did that come about?

Jens Benndorf:
To understand that, you also have to know the history of Dream Chip. We started in Garbsen in 2009 with 30 employees. That’s still our headquarters. Since then, four additional locations in Germany and the Netherlands have been added, and we’ve grown to 150 employees.

Tessolve came to Hannover in 2017 to establish a new development site in Europe. In the meantime, the focus has shifted. Tessolve is now pursuing strategic and global growth, investing specifically to expand its technological capabilities. Dream Chip is a perfect fit in this regard, making the acquisition part of a well-considered growth strategy – with Hannover as a central anchor point in Europe.

What exactly do Tessolve and Dream Chip do to generate revenue?

Tessolve is a leading provider of engineering services and end-to-end solutions in semiconductor and system development. Its customers include international technology and industrial companies that commission the development, verification, and integration of complex chips and embedded systems. The products developed are used in areas such as automotive, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, and AI applications.

Dream Chip is the ideal complement to this portfolio: We specialize in highly integrated system-on-chip solutions, ASIC designs, as well as image processing and AI-based technologies. Together, Tessolve and Dream Chip can now support customers throughout the entire value chain – from concept to market readiness.

Were there other advantages that spoke in favor of Dream Chip and the Hannover location?

Yes, Dream Chip has many years of market experience and outstanding technological expertise. Our team is made up of highly qualified specialists, and we have a strong culture of innovation. At the same time, as mentioned, our company is a perfect strategic match for Tessolve.

Being located in the Hannover Region has also proven beneficial. Hannover offers a stable environment, access to skilled professionals, a strong engineering tradition, and reliable framework conditions. This combination is crucial for sustainable growth.

What does the investment mean specifically for the Hannover location?

First and foremost, the investment significantly strengthens Dream Chip’s existing structure. We are securing jobs, expanding expertise, and creating opportunities for further growth.

Hannover will continue to play an important role in this – as a development location, as a hub for talent, and as a key part of our overall strategy. From here, together with Tessolve, we manage all European development and sales activities.
